With the season of colds, flus, and other viruses upon us, it’s a great time to pay attention to our health and wellness. While we know that people with behavioral health disorders are more likely to contract viral illnesses and become sicker from them, there are strategies that can enhance immunity and resiliency. Come to this session to learn about an innovative program that teaches how the immune system works and self-care wellness skills for enhanced immune health. This program can benefit the people you support, the workforce, and families/caregivers. It is free to the public and can be taught by mental health practitioners and peer specialists. Real-life examples of this intervention in peer-run crisis respite, peer-led wellness centers, and other traditional and non-traditional programs will be described.
